Scouting the Knights
FDU (1-2-0) was selected to finish second in the NEC Preseason Poll after a 2019 season in which the Burgundy and Blue won the NEC Tournament championship and advance to the NCAA tournament. The Knights opened the 2020-21 season with back-to-back 2-0 losses on the road against Fordham and Seton Hall before opening NEC play with a 1-0 road win at Sacred Heart on March 1. Freshman
Hugo Bacharach scored in the 89' for the Knights, giving them their first goal and victory of the campaign. The Knights' second conference match of the season at home against Bryant on March 8 was postponed due to COVID-19 protocols.
Coach Roland's Thoughts
"We are looking forward to getting back on the field after not having played for two weeks. The game versus LIU is a rematch of the 2019 NEC Championship game and the two teams have a lot of similar qualities. We are going to need a very focused and committed effort from start to finish if we want to have a shot at winning the game. The guys can't wait to play."
What's Next
The Burgundy and Blue hit the road again on Monday, March 22, for a conference fixture against Central Connecticut State at 2 p.m. live on NEC Front Row.
