BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Led by reigning NEC Player of the Week
Jahlil Jenkins, the Fairleigh Dickinson men's basketball team extended its winning streak to three by defeating LIU 78-70 at Steinberg Wellness Center on Thursday night.
Jenkins poured in 27 points on 8-of-13 shooting including 4-of-5 from three-point range as the Knights (6-9, 5-4 NEC) won for the fourth time in five tries. Junior guard
Brandon Powell registered his first career double-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, while freshman forward
Pier-Olivier Racine also added 10 points.

How it Happened
- The Knights hit six of their first 10 and led 14-8 just over five minutes into action.
- After the Burgundy and Blue built a 19-12 lead on a dunk by Joe Munden Jr., the Sharks responded with an 11-1 run to take their first lead.
- The Knights would regain the lead, 26-25, on a three-pointer by Powell with 5:45 to play in the half.
- Led by Jenkins' 13 points, the Knights went into the break with a 40-37 lead.
- The Burgundy and Blue held the Sharks to 32 percent shooting overall and 3-of-14 from three-point range in the half but the hosts made 10-of-14 at the line.
- Racine scored eight points over the first five minutes of the second half and a three-point play by Jenkins gave the Knights a nine-point lead 54-45.
- Back-to-back threes from Williams and Jenkins helped the Knights enhance their lead to 16, 66-50, with under 10 minutes to play.
- The Sharks would slice the lead in half with an 8-0 run as the Knights led 71-63 with under four to go but they would not get any closer.

- For the second straight outing, the defense came up big for the Burgundy and Blue and forced a season-high 20 turnovers.
- Racine's 10 points came in just 13 minutes of action as the freshman from Montreal hit all five of his field goal attempts.
- Coming off of a 16-point, 14-rebound double-double, senior forward Elyjah Williams corralled 13 boards in the win.
- In addition to his first double-double, Powell dished out a career-best six assists.
- With his 27-point effort, Jenkins moved up two spots on the Knights' all-time scoring list to seventh, passing Darian Anderson and Hall of Famer, Mike Payne. Jenkins now has 1,555 points through 109 career games.
- NEC Co-Player of the Week, Eral Penn had a monster effort for the first-place Sharks (6-4, 6-4 NEC) with 33 points, 20 rebounds and six steals.
