TEANECK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson University administration was recently made aware of a racist and intolerable social media post from a current student-athlete that was created while the student was in high school, prior to being recruited by FDU.

The administration takes such matters very seriously, and the welfare of our current student-athletes, coaches and athletics staff is indeed our highest priority. We are fully exploring what occurred and how best to ensure this does not happen again.

We also are in the process of a significant dialogue about diversity, equity, tolerance and respect, and we are listening and talking with the student-athletes and coaches, as well as other community members including alumni. The student-athletes and all our students, as well as our coaches and staff, have our full support as we work through this together.
