Scouting the Blue Devils
CCSU hits their home pitch after sustaining a 4-0 conference loss at Saint Francis U (Pa.) on October 10. The Blue Devils currently sit an even .500 in NEC play with a 2-2 record heading into the match with the Knights. Central Connecticut junior goalkeeper Jason Dubrovich led both sides in saves, logging five on the afternoon in the battle with the Red Flash. CCSU previously notched league wins over new associate member Howard (3-0) and on the road against Mount St. Mary's, a 4-1 victory for the Blue Devils. In non-conference play, Thursday's host went winless in, but had their most forceful attack against UMass back on September 8, in a 2-1 double overtime loss.

Scouting the Knights
Seth Roland's Knights keep on rolling. The Burgundy and Blue have logged at least one point in the NEC table through each of their four conference fixtures this season. FDU made the New York City airwaves following senior forward Diego Arribas' miraculous bicycle-kick goal scored in the 25' of the Knights' 2-0 road win over Bryant. The Madrid, Spain native, thanks to assists from senior captain midfielder Ideal Shefqeti and graduate student Stefano Pesce, caught the attention of ABC7 and FOX5's "Sports Xtra," along with News12 New Jersey, following the score. Sophomore defender Hugo Bacharach - assisted by Arribas - tacked on the second goal of the match for FDU in the 38' to seal the deal for the visitors against the Bulldogs in Smithfield, R.I. Roland's Knights have proven to be road warriors in conference play, having not played on the banks of the Hackensack since September 30 in a 2-0 win over Saint Francis U (Pa.). The Burgundy and Blue currently sit in second place in the NEC table with 10 points on the season, behind the Sharks' 12.

Coach Roland's Thoughts
"This game is a chance for us to keep the momentum going and try and earn three points, but it will be a challenge to do so against a CCSU team that can score goals. The guys have been playing well and it's important that we maintain the energy and focus that we've brought to the last several games."

What's Next
FDU returns home for NEC action with an Alumni Night match against LIU at University Stadium in Teaneck, N.J. on Sunday, October 17, at 7 p.m. as part of the University's Friends and Family Weekend.
