Last Time Out for FDU
On Saturday, November 28, Fairleigh Dickinson played host to St. John's for their first matchup of the season. The Red Storm defeated the Knights, 70-44. The first 15 points put up by FDU were scored by freshmen. Freshman Devyn Scott made her first collegiate start for the Knights and opened the contest with six of the first seven points as the Knights took an early 6-1 lead. The Red Storm answered with a 15-0 run over the next five minutes to take a 16-6 lead with 3:14 to play in the first quarter. First-year Knight Taylor Crystian ended the run with her first career points on an and-one layup. Over the final 2:43 of the quarter, FDU outscored St. John's 7-5 but still trailed by eight.

Scouting the Knights
FDU was selected to finish fourth in the NEC Preseason Poll, its highest selection since 2015. The Knights averaged 57.0 points per game last season and connected on 197 three-pointers. The Burgundy and Blue return four of their top five scorers from a season ago and nine players in total including senior forward Madison Stanley who averaged 10.7 rebounds and 4.3 rebounds per contest.

Coach Szumilo's Thoughts Following Saturday's Loss vs. St. John's
"It felt good to just get out there and play against somebody other than ourselves. Eight of our nine players available for today's game were underclassmen and that showed especially in the second half, but I thought we played hard overall. We definitely need to address the areas we need to improve in and use this game as a learning lesson."

Next Up
The Burgundy and Blue will travel to Fordham on Tuesday, December 8. Tip-off time has yet to be announced.
