HACKENSACK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson softball team heads to nearby Saint Peter's for a doubleheader Tuesday afternoon starting at 1 p.m. at Joseph J. Jaroschak Field in Jersey City, New Jersey.

ENTERING THE DAY
The Knights (5-18) finished up its extended trip through California with three one-run losses out of four games in the Capital City Classic. The Knights suffered back-to-back 1-0 defeats against Marist and Sacramento State, followed by another one-run loss to Marist, 7-6, on Saturday. Junior
Madison Emerson went 3-for-4 with a double against Sacramento State on Friday, and senior
Baylee Ports threw seven shutout innings in the same game that entered extra innings at 0-0.
KNIGHT LEADERS
Emerson thus far leads the Knights with a .284 batting average and 19 hits. Sophomore
Rylie Schmeh has two doubles, two triples and five runs scored and leads the Knights with eight RBI in 21 games, and freshman

Erica Johnson leads the Knights with 29 strikeouts in 42 innings pitched and has a 4.17 ERA, while sophomore

SERIES HISTORY
The Knights have a 19-12 advantage in its all-time series with Saint Peter's since 2001, and the Knights have beaten Saint Peter's in 17 straight games dating back to 2010. FDU won both games last season, 7-1 and 4-2, in Hackensack, with
Serena Meehan and
Logan Kolehmainen going 3-for-4 in the 7-1 win and Emerson going 3-for-4 in the 4-2 victory. Meehan drove in three of the seven runs in the 7-1 win, while Kolehmainen scored two runs and drove in one as well. Ports recorded a career-best 10 strikeouts in the 7-1 complete game victory.
SCOUTING SAINT PETER'S
The Peacocks (3-14) dropped all four games at the Maryland Invitational this past weekend, falling to Rhode Island, Villanova and fellow NEC school Bryant before ending the weekend with a 10-0 loss to Drexel in their final game on Sunday. Katie Sciglimpaglia and Harley Connors each had three hits against Bryant, and Barbara Verrastro hit a home run for the Peacocks' lone run against Villanova. Connors leads the Peacocks with a .293 batting average this season, and Sydney Senerchia has a 5.85 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 32.1 innings to lead the team's pitchers. The Peacocks were picked to finish 11th in the MAAC preseason poll after going 7-41 last season.
