HACKENSACK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson softball team continues its trek through the Golden State with doubleheaders at St. Mary's College and University of California-Berkeley on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.
Live stats will be available for Tuesday's games against St. Mary's, but live streams are not available for either day's games. This will be the first time FDU has played either school in softball.
ENTERING THE KNIGHTS
The Knights (4-11) dropped all four games this past weekend at the Louisville Slugger Tournament hosted by University of the Pacific. The Knights scored two early runs to take a lead over #24 Boise State on Saturday before falling behind, and they also mounted a comeback bid against host Pacific in their second game Sunday, scoring two runs to pull within two and putting the tying run on base.

Senior
Reanna Cervantes finished the weekend batting .500 (6-for-12) with two doubles and a run scored. She moved her season batting average to a team-best .343 and her 12 hits this season is second on the team to junior
Madison Emerson (14). Cervantes notched her first two extra-base hits of the season and is now tied for third program history with 32 career two-baggers.
SCHMEH POWER
Sophomore
Rylie Schmeh has been the team's leader this season with six RBI and a 1.011 OPS to start the season, with three of her seven hits going for extra bases. She has a double and two triples already and has scored two runs and is second on the team with a .333 batting average. Schmeh is one of only four players in the NEC with multiple triples this season.
SCOUTING ST. MARY'S
The Gaels (2-13) have dropped each of their last seven games, having not won since defeating Idaho State on February 22. The Gaels on Sunday were shut out in both games of a doubleheader against Nevada, falling 2-0 and 9-0. Bailey Lotz is hitting .286 this season and leads the team with 12 hits and two doubles to go with five RBI and six runs scored. Eryn McCoy leads the team in innings pitched (40.0) and strikeouts (34) and is 2-1 this season with a 6.65 ERA and 1.93 WHIP. Last season, St. Mary's finished 15-34, and they were picked to finish sixth in the West Coast Conference Preseason Poll this season.
SCOUTING CALIFORNIA
The Golden Bears (16-7) have won nine straight games and have gone since February 23 without suffering a loss. Cal played in Hawaii this past week and won all five games, scoring at least eight runs in each game and tossing four shutouts. Lindsay Rood leads the team and the Pac-12 with a .494 batting average, 39 hits, nine doubles, four triples and 16 stolen bases. Kamalani Dung leads the Golden Bears in the circle with an 8-3 record and an ERA below 2.00 and over 70 strikeouts so far this season. Last season, Cal finished seventh in the Pac-12 with a 35-21 overall record and 7-16 league record, and they were picked to finish fifth in the conference this season.

The Knights after these mid-week doubleheaders compete in a tournament hosted by both Sacramento State and UC Davis, where they will play each of the host schools along with Marist and Santa Clara for five games starting Friday and ending Sunday.
