Holloway Jr. Scores Season-High 22 Points in Loss to Saint Francis U

HACKENSACK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson men's basketball team fell to Saint Francis U 87-62 at the Rothman Center on Thursday night.

The Knights (12-13, 7-6 NEC) were unable to slow the first-place Red Flash (13-11, 9-4 NEC), who led from wire-to-wire and extended their win streak to six with the victory.

Senior forward Mike Holloway Jr. was the lone Knight to reach double figures as he finished with a season-high 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting. Holloway added six rebounds to his ledger, while junior forward Kaleb Bishop finished with nine points, six rebounds and a career-high four blocked shots in the loss.

Keith Braxton paced the Red Flash with 21 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals, while Jamaal King scored 15 points with four assists and four steals. The Red Flash shot 50 percent from the field and made 12 3-pointers in the win.

The Burgundy and Blue lost the battle on the boards 40-31, shot 42.4 percent from the field and 35.3 percent (6-of-17) from three-point range.

The Knights made just one of their first nine shots and trailed 12-2 at the 14-minute mark of the opening half.

With under eight minutes to play in the stanza, the lead grew to 16 points, 26-10, as the Red Flash drained 5-of-9 from behind the arc, while the Knights missed their first seven from deep.

After leading by as many as 20 points, the Red Flash would carry a comfortable 41-23 lead into the break.

Holloway made 4-of-6 shots and scored nine points with five rebounds in the half but the Knights were held to 37 percent overall and 1-for-9 (11.1 percent) from three-point range.

The Red Flash shot 48.4 percent from the field and made 7-of-15 (46.7 percent) from behind the arc with King's 10 points and four assists leading the way.

The second half featured more of the same as the Knights struggled to find the touch offensively. With their three-point shot falling, the Red Flash continued to surge and eventually established a 27-point lead, 74-47, with 6:10 to play in regulation.

The Knights continue their four-game homestand this Saturday, February 16 when they host Bryant at 4:30 p.m.
