The Fairleigh Dickinson women's basketball team opened the 2019-20 season on Tuesday, November 5, at Lafayette, falling 61-29. With Coach Szumilo making her FDU debut, the Knights (0-1) started slow on offense out of the gate but improved as the game went along, scoring a majority of their points in the second half. The Leopards (1-0), however, shot 15-of-29 in the first half in building their lead that sustained throughout the game. Sophomore
Lindsey Mack led the Knights with 12 points on 4-of-10 shooting, making 3-of-9 shots from three-point range. Freshman
Aniya Bell added nine points on 4-of-7 shooting off the bench in her FDU debut, and junior
Madison Stanley chipped in six points and two blocks. Sophomore
Rachael Niles led the Knights with seven rebounds.
Coach Szumilo Home Debut
Wednesday night's game will be the first home game for the Knights under first-year head coach
Angelika Szumilo. It will also be the first home game for five FDU freshmen --
Aniya Bell,
Jayde Boyd,
Celia Carbonell,
Sierra DeAngelo and
Maria Roters.

The Knights play again on Saturday at home, hosting Manhattan in the Rothman Center at noon.
