HACKENSACK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson volleyball team fell in straight sets 25-18, 25-11, 25-16 to Sacred Heart at the Rothman Center on Friday night.

In the loss,
Magdalena Maksimovic,
Mujay Mambu and
Sophia Spiridonakos each recorded five kills for the Knights, while
McKenna Setterlund totaled 11 assists and
Allison Koester finished with 11 digs.
Liisel Nelis racked up 16 kills and 13 digs to pace the Pioneers (9-10, 5-2 NEC), who outhit the Knights .302 to .080 in attack percentage.
The first set featured four ties before the Pioneers stretched a one-point edge to six with a 5-0 burst that established a 21-15 lead.
In the second, the road team dominated from the outset jumping out to a 10-4 lead en route to the 14-point win.
The final frame saw the Knights register their best offensive performance of the contest. The Burgundy and Blue committed just one error with 10 kills. All five of Spiridonakos' kills came in the decisive set but a 7-2 run by the Pioneers in the middle of the frame proved to be the difference as they pulled away and closed out the three-set win.
The Knights are back in action tomorrow when they host Merrimack. First serve is set for 5:00 p.m. at the Rothman Center.
