Knights Host Senior Day Against Wagner Sunday in Hackensack

HACKENSACK, N.J. -  The Fairleigh Dickinson softball team returns to action this weekend with a pair of double headers against LIU Brooklyn and Wagner.  The Knights head out to Brooklyn to take on the Blackbirds Saturday afternoon beginning at 12 p.m. before returning home Sunday to host the Seahawks in Hackensack on Senior Day.

The Knights currently own a 12-21 record, including a 4-4 mark in NEC play.  All four games will be available via live stream on NEC Front Row.

THE OPPONENTS

The Knights hold a 5-30 all time mark in the series against LIU Brooklyn and split their most recent matchup in April of 2017, winning game one 4-3 and losing game two 19-3.  FDU is 10-24 all-time against Wagner, with their last win against the Seahawks coming back in April of 2016, a 1-0 victory.  The Knights currently sit fourth overall in the NEC standings at 4-4 in conference, with LIU in sixth at 5-6 and Wagner in eighth at 2-9.

LAST TIME OUT

The Knights are coming off of a two-game sweep at the hands of Sacred Heart that saw FDU drop consecutive matchups by scores of 6-1 and 1-0.  The Knights combined for just three hits in two games as the Pioneers NEC-leading pitching staff closed the door on the FDU bats in both games.  It was the first time since March 16th that FDU dropped both legs of a double-header this season.

FUTURE SERIES

After playing out their home schedule Sunday against Wagner, FDU heads out on the road to close out its season with a number of rain-delay makeups.  The Knights will take on Villanova on Tuesday, May 1st in a re-scheduled pair of games originally set for April 17th before closing things out with their Western Pa. road trip against Robert Morris and Saint Francis U beginning Saturday, May 5th.

JACKSON HONORED SUNDAY

Sunday's double-header against Wagner will serve as FDU's senior day with the Knights set to honor lone senior Jaymee Jackson in a pre-game ceremony.  Since transferring to FDU at the start of her junior season in 2017, Jackson has appeared in over 60 games for the Knights, hitting .245 with 12 RBI's in that time.
