HACKENSACK, N.J. - The Fairleigh Dickinson softball team heads to Washington, D.C. this weekend for a five-game stretch against Princeton and George Washington. The Knights currently sit at 2-6 overall on the season.
FDU will play doubleheaders against the Tigers and Colonials on Friday and Saturday before closing out the weekend with a rubber match against GW Sunday afternoon.
THE OPPONENTS
Friday morning will be the first-ever meeting between the Tigers and Knights in program history. The Tigers are currently winless in 2018 at 0-5. FDU is 2-0 all-time against George Washington, having met for the first time back in the 2003 season. FDU won it's most recent matchup against the Colonials 7-5 back in February of 2011. George Washington currently owns a 9-7 overall record.
LAST TIME OUT
The Knights were last in action back on March 4th when they wrapped up the Coppin State Classic with a 9-4 win over Morgan State. FDU went 1-2 on the weekend, dropping contests to CSU 7-6 and Hartford 6-5. Catcher
Reanna Cervantes led FDU at the plate in the win over Morgan State, going 3-4 with an RBI and two runs.
Baylee Ports earned her first win of the season in the circle for FDU, and now sits at 1-2 on the season.
FUTURE SCHEDULE
The Knights take on the west coast next week when they head to Santa California for a week of action Santa Clara, San Jose State, Sacramento State, and UC Davis. FDU kicks off the action with a double-header against Santa Clara on March 13.
