Softball Heads to Baltimore For Trio of Weekend Games

HACKENSACK, N.J. -  The Fairleigh Dickinson University softball team returns to action this weekend with a three-game slate of action starting Saturday in Baltimore, M.D.  The Knights open up with an afternoon double-header against Hartford and Coppin State before closing things out on Sunday with a 12:00 p.m. matchup against Morgan State.

The Knights currently sit at 1-4 overall after opening up their season two weeks ago at the Dot Richardson Invitational in Florida.  

THE OPPONENTS 

The Knights are 2-3 all-time against Hartford, having last met in 2014 when FDU earned a 7-4 win.  Additionally, FDU is undefeated (4-0) in their all-time series with Coppin State, and 3-3 against Morgan State, who defeated the Knights 7-0 in two weeks ago in Clermont.

LAST TIME OUT 

The Knights kicked off their 2018 campaign two weeks ago at the Dot Richardson Invitational in Clearwater, Florida, coming away with a 1-4 record.  FDU earned a 9-5 win over UT Chattanooga as well as losses to Liberty, Detroit Mercy, and Morgan State.  Abbey England picked up an NEC Rookie of the Week award for her efforts over the course of the trip, earning a win on the mound as well as driving in a pair of runs. 

FUTURE SCHEDULE

The Knights return to the area next weekend when they head to Washington, D.C.  for a pair of games with Princeton as well as a three-game matchup with George Washington.
