HACKENSACK, N.J. -  The Fairleigh Dickinson softball team returns to action this week when the Knights head out to California for a week-long road swing against a  number of different opponents.  

FDU will kick things off with Tuesday evening double-header against Santa Clara University beginning at 5 p.m. before heading out to take on San Jose State, Sacramento State, UC Davis and Pacific over a five-day stretch.  

THE OPPONENTS 

The games will mark the first ever meeting between the Knights and UC Davis, Pacific, and San Jose State.  FDU is 1-1 all-time against Santa Clara, having first met three seasons ago in 2014.  FDU's only victory against  Santa Clara was a 9-1 victory on March 9th, 2014.  The Knights are 1-0 against Sacramento State all-time, winning their only previous matchup by a 5-3 final back in March of 2014.  

LAST TIME OUT 

The Knights finished a weekend trip to Washington D.C. with a 2-3 overall record, recording back-to-back wins against Princeton as well as three losses to George Washington University.  Pitcher Abby England recorded her second win of the season in the circle for the Knights, scattering six hits and two earned over seven innings in FDU's 3-2 victory on Saturday against the Tigers.  Serena Meehan went 2-2 at the plate and added two runs for the Knights in the second win.  

FUTURE SCHEDULE 

After returning home from their west coast swing the Knights will open up their home schedule with a Wednesday afternoon double-header against Hartford University on March 21 before playing a slate of four games against Stony Brook and Fairfield in Stony Brook, N.Y beginning March 24th.
