Men's Soccer Meets Central Connecticut Sunday

TEANECK, N.J. -  The Fairleigh Dickinson men's soccer team gets back into action Sunday when they head to New Britain, Ct. for a showdown with the Central Connecticut Blue Devils at 3 p.m.  The game will be available to watch via a free live stream on NEC Front Row.

The Knights currently sit at 3-5-3 overall, including a 0-1-1 mark in NEC play.

LAST TIME OUT

The Knights dropped their Friday night home matchup against the Bryant Bulldogs by a final score of 1-0 at University Stadium last time around.  Despite owning an incredible 10-2 advantage in shots on goal, the post and a handful of incredible saves from Bryant keeper Oliver Larente kept the Knights off the board for the their third straight game.  Fredinho Mompremier led the Knights with four shots, including three on target.

ALL TIME SERIES

The Knights are 12-6-6 all time against CCSU, with 38 goals scored and 24 goals conceded in 24 matchups.  The two squads played to a draw the last two times they've faced one another, with 1-1 being the final score in 2017 and 2016.  The Knights have not beaten CCSU outright since 2012 when they  knocked off the Blue Devils 2-0 in New Britain.

SCOUTING THE BLUE DEVILS

For a team looking to get back into the win column, Sunday's matchup against CCSU is a perfect opportunity.  The Blue Devils are currently winless on the season at 0-8-1, including a 0-2 mark in NEC play, although Sunday will be just their second home game of the season.  CCSU has scored six goals total this season, three of them coming off the foot of senior forward Louis Beddouri.  The Blue Devils lone draw on the season was a 1-1 fontal against Hartford back on September 25.

SHOTS LEADERS

Despite some recent struggles in the goal scoring department, the Knights continue to boast one of the most aggressive attacks in the NEC, ranking second in the NEC in shots per game at 13.9.  Sophomore Jacob Labovitz leads the NEC in shots per game at 3.78, while senior Ahu Obhakhan sits fifth at 2.67.
