Men's Soccer Hosts Bryant Friday Evening

TEANECK, N.J. -  The Fairleigh Dickinson men's soccer team returns to action tonight when they host the Bryant Bulldogs at University Stadium at 7 p.m. The game will be available to watch via free live stream on NEC Front Row.

The Knights currently hold a 3-4-3 overall record, including a 0-0-1 mark in NEC Play.

LAST TIME OUT

FDU opened up its conference schedule on the road last weekend, taking on the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers in Emmitsburg.  Despite controlling possession for the majority of the matchup and dominating the shot on goal margins at 9-0, the Knights ended the game in a 0-0 draw after both keepers proved unbeatable over 110 minutes.  The Knights hit several posts and a crossbar on the evening, and Ahu Obhakhan had a good scoring chance denied on an incredible diving kick save by Mount keeper Bobby Edwards in the first half to keep the score even.

ALL-TIME SERIES

The Knights own a slight advantage in the all-time series against the Bulldogs with a 4-3-2 overall record with 11 goals scored and seven conceded.  The Knights last win over Bryant was a 2-1 victory in 2016.  The Bulldogs won the most recent matchup by a final score of 2-0 last year in Smithfield, R.I. FDU has not lost a home matchup with Bryant since 2014.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS

While Bryant's current overall record of 1-6-2 might not jump out as particularly impressive on paper, a closer look at its results reveals a squad that has at time kept pace with some of the best teams in the country.  The Bulldogs earned their first point of the year after a 1-1 draw against a Fordham squad that was ranked No. 11 in the country back on September 8, holding the Rams to just three shots on goal.  Bryant is also fresh off of its Western PA road trip that saw the team down Robert Morris, 2-0, and draw with Saint Francis U, 0-0.  Sophomores Jared Lee and Antonio Terceros lead Bryant in scoring with two goals a piece.

LOOKING AHEAD

After its clash with the Bulldogs Friday night, FDU gets back to business Sunday as the team hits the road for a clash with the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils in New Britain, Conn.  Despite ranking sixth in the NEC in total goals with nine, the Knights are second overall in shots on goal with 139, and have posted relatively stout defensive numbers as well, conceding just 14 goals in 10 games, raking them third in the NEC.
