STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson women's basketball team forced 22 Wagner turnovers to get the road win 59-53 on Saturday.
Fairleigh Dickinson (3-11, 1-2 NEC) outscored Wagner (1-13, 0-3 NEC) 16-8 in the third quarter to extend a three-point halftime lead to an 11-point advantage -- 47-36 -- heading to the final quarter of play.
In the third, the Knights scored six of the first eight points to take a 39-30 lead at the 6:14 mark. The run continued with back-to-back threes from Brown and M'Bikata made it a 15-point game, 45-30.
M'Bikata led a trio of Knights in double figures with 12 points. Amina Markovic, who added nine rebounds, and Brianna Thomas added 11.
Jenna Clark had a career-high seven points off the bench. Brown had five points and three steals, Courtney Blankenship had two points, six rebounds and three steals.
Head coach Peter Cinella said, "We did a good job in our press defense. We are very happy with the forced turnovers, including 13 steals."
