HACKENSACK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson volleyball team is set to host two Northeast Conference games this weekend.
On Saturday, the Knights take on the Colonials of Robert Morris at 1 p.m. before returning on Sunday to face Saint Francis U, also at 1 p.m.
Robert Morris is currently 6-11 on the season and 0-2 in NEC play. The Colonials have lost seven matches in a row, with the most recent being a 3-0 loss to Duquesne. Robert Morris opened up conference play last week with a pair of losses to Central Connecticut and Bryant.
The Knights and Colonials have had several common opponents this year. Fairleigh Dickinson lost to Bucknell 3-0 while Robert Morris beat the Bison 3-2. Both teams have also played Lehigh and lost. The Knights lost 3-0 and the Colonials lost 3-1. Last year, the Knights went 0-2 against the Colonials.
Saint Francis U is 4-11 so far this season and 0-2 in conference play. The Red Flash is coming off a pair of losses to Bryant and Central Connecticut last weekend. Before taking on Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday, the Red Flash will face Sacred Heart on Saturday.
Saint Francis U and the Knights have had two common opponents so far during the 2016 campaign. The Red Flash lost to both Quinnipiac and La Salle 3-1. The Knights lost to Quinnipiac 3-1 and La Salle 3-2. Fairleigh Dickinson went 2-0 against the Red Flash last season.
The Knights are coming off a 3-0 win over Saint Peter's on Wednesday – their first of the season.
Rebecca Sabol (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Coffman) currently leads the Knights with 152 kills. She also has 10 service aces on the year, third-best on the team behind
Kirstin Trabert (Corona, Calif./Norco) (19) and
Carly O'Sullivan (Bogota, N.J./Bogota) (11).
Trabert has a team-leading 435 assists and is third on the team with 132 digs. O'Sullivan leads with 268 digs and
Savanna Wray (Peoria, Ariz./Sunrise Mountain) is second with 141.
Caroline Laton (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) leads with 62 blocks while
Annabel Reyes (Teaneck, N.J./Immaculate Heart Academy) has 42.
