Teaneck, N.J.
– The Fairleigh Dickinson men's soccer team will open its 2016 season by hosting NJIT at University Stadium on Friday, August 26.  The match will begin at 7 p.m. and admission is free.

The Knights – arguably the top men's soccer program in Northeast Conference history – are entering their 20th season under the direction of head coach Seth Roland.

Roland has guided FDU to 185 victories, six NEC Championships, six NCAA Tournament appearances, including trips to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen in 2012 and the Elite Eight in 2001.  Overall in 29 years as a collegiate head coach he has 305 victories and a .587 winning percentage.

The 2016 FDU squad features a number of new faces joining a core of returning letterwinners.

The Knights will follow Friday's contest with a home match against Howard on Tuesday, August 30.  That contest will also begin at 7 p.m.

The team will then travel to Bradley University for a Tournament on September 2 and 4, before returning home and hosting Iona on Saturday, September 10 and Lehigh on Tuesday, September 13.
