The Knights sit at 7-22 on the season and 2-0 in the NEC, which puts them in a tie for first-place in the conference. LIU Brooklyn comes into the weekend with a 13-24 overall record and a 2-2 mark in NEC play. Saint Peter's sits at 0-21 and will play at Marist and at Siena on Saturday and Sunday before taking on the Knights on Tuesday. The Knights and Blackbirds start at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday and the Knights and Peacocks start at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
SERIES SCORELIU Brooklyn has had success against Fairleigh Dickinson all-time with a 27-4 record. The Knights did split with the Blackbirds in each of the last three regular seasons. LIU won an NEC Tournament game back in 2014. The Knights have fared better against the Peacocks all-time. Fairleigh Dickinson holds a 15-12 record all-time and has won the last 13 meetings between the two programs -- dates back to 2010.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTSLIU Brooklyn --- The Blackbirds will play Robert Morris on Saturday before taking on the Knights on Sunday. The Blackbirds are 2-8 in their last ten games. The two wins came in doubleheader splits at home against Saint Francis U and Bryant last weekend. Victoria Zamora leads the team in hitting -- .354 -- and a quartet of Blackbirds who over .300 on the season. Five players have driven in at least 10 runs, led by Ariana Lopez's 18. Erynn Sobieski leads the pitching staff in innings (135.1), ERA (4.03), appearances (30) and wins (8).
Saint Peter's --- The Peacocks are 0-21 coming into the weekend after getting swept by Columbia in a doubleheader on Thursday. Saint Peter's will play a pair of conference doubleheaders before playing at Fairleigh Dickinson on Tuesday. Jackie Riley leads the team in average at .267. Samantha Storms leads the team with six RBI. Tiffani Lambert has pitched 40.1 innings for the Peacocks and owns a 6.77 ERA.
AMONG NEC LEADERSMadelaine Wilen (Bakersfield, Calif./Ridgeview) is second in the NEC in batting average with a .379, fourth in slugging .600, fourth in on-base percentage .449. The senior is tied for the league lead with 10 doubles and leads by herself in stolen bases with 21 -- no other player has more than eight.
As a team, the Knights leads the NEC steals (59) and attempts (80). Fairleigh Dickinson is fourth in the NEC in batting average (.276), slugging (.368) and on-base percentage (.343).
