Fairleigh Dickinson will take on Columbia at 1 p.m. and Canisius at 3 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday, Fairleigh Dickinson will play Canisius at 10 a.m. and Columbia at 2 p.m.
This will be the first meeting for the Knights and the Golden Griffins of Canisius. The Knights and Lions have split the 18 prior meetings evenly. The last win for Fairleigh Dickinson came back on April 2, 2013 by the score of 10-7. Columbia took both meetings last season (8-1, 2-1).
Canisius comes into the weekend at 5-18 on the season and 1-5 in its last six contests. The win came against Georgetown by a score of 4-1. Columbia and Fairleigh Dickinson both sporting a 3-15 records heading into the weekend. The Lions have lost 11 straight games, including a 2-1 loss to UNC Wilmington in 15 innings in their last game.
Madelaine Wilen (Bakersfield, Calif./Ridgeview) leads the Knights in hitting .390 to lead the offense. Wilen went 5-for-8 against Rider on Wednesday over the two games, scored three runs and drove in another. Wilen also stole two bases to set a new school record.
Kellie Natham (Arcadia, Calif./Maranatha) is second on the team in hitting at .353. The first-year Knight is second on the team in RBI with 10 and tied for second in total bases with 24.
