WEST POINT, N.Y. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson women's basketball team dropped a road game at Army West Point 86-58 on Monday night.
 
'I liked how we ran our offensive sets at times tonight, but you have to Army credit, they came out aggressive and you can see why they do not loose at home often", said head coach 
Peter Cinella afterward. He added, "I liked the effort we showed in the fourth by some of our younger players."
 
Army (5-1) started the game on a 24-5 run over the first five minutes. The Black Knights led 27-10 after one-quarter.
 
Fairleigh Dickinson (2-4) battled back to within 14 at 31-17 on an 
Amina Markovic bucket with 6:36 left in the second quarter. The Markovic two capped a 7-0 run where 
Brianna Thomas scored the other five points for the Knights.
 
Markovic and 
Courtney Blankenship led the Fairleigh Dickinson offense with 13 points each. The 13 points for each sets a new career high. Thomas finished with 12 points and five rebounds as the third Knight in double figures. Markovic added eight rebounds and two blocks.
The Black Knights extended the lead out to 23 at the half, 50-27, after scoring nine of the last 11 points of the second quarter.
Army's lead got to as many as 36, 81-45, in the fourth quarter with 6:51 to play. From that point to the end of the game, Fairleigh Dickinson outscored Army 12-5. Blankenship scored nine of her 13 points during the final six minutes.

Elise Graham added the other three for the Knights.
Army West Point had four players in double figures and was led by Madison Hovren's 23 points, 13 rebounds. Daizjah Morris (14), Janae McNeal (12) and Jess Lewis (10) were also in double figures for the Black Knights.
