HACKENSACK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson women's volleyball team hosts NJIT on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. in a non-conference match.
 
It is the final non-conference match of the season for the Knights.
 
The Knights are currently 2-22 on the season and 1-6 in Northeast Conference action. They are coming off a tough 3-1 loss to Sacred Heart on Saturday. The Knights beat the Pioneers in the first set before falling in the final three sets.
 
NJIT is 8-15 overall and 0-7 in the Atlantic Sun Conference. The Highlanders are coming off a 3-0 loss to Kennesaw State on Saturday.
 
The Knights and Highlanders have had several common opponents, including three NEC teams – LIU Brooklyn, St. Francis Brooklyn and Saint Francis U.
 
Both teams were defeated by LIU Brooklyn and beat Saint Francis U. The Knights lost to St. Francis Brooklyn 3-2 while the Highlanders defeated the Terriers twice by scores of 3-2 and 3-0.
 
The two teams met last season but the match was stopped in the fourth set due to NJIT's playing surface being declared unsafe. In 2014, the Knights lost twice to the Highlanders by a score of 3-1, both times. Fairleigh Dickinson last beat NJIT in 2013, twice.
