The Knights (2-8-1, 0-1-1 NEC)
Fairleigh Dickinson sets out for its first NEC victory of the season against the Bulldogs on Saturday.
The Knights will look to keep up their stellar defense, which has limited opponents to 1.27 goals per game. On the season, the Knights have allowed just 14 goals in their 11 games.
In their last contest, the Knights dropped their first road NEC match of the season, 3-0 at St. Francis Brooklyn. After playing 76 minutes of scoreless soccer, the Terriers broke loose with three goals over the game's next three minutes and prevailed with the win.
FDU will look to generate its offense through
Enver Caymaz (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes), who currently ranks second in the NEC in shots per game at 3.0. Caymaz leads the Knights with seven points on the campaign.
Following Saturday's game against Bryant, the Knights host Saint Francis U on Friday, October 21.
The Bulldogs (1-8-1, 0-0-1 NEC)
Bryant enters Saturday's contest with one win on the season. The Bulldogs have struggled to score this season with just six goals through 10 games.
After topping Rhode Island 2-1 back on September 27, the Bulldogs dropped a non-conference match to Hartwick 3-0.
In last week's NEC opener, the team played LIU Brooklyn to a 1-1 draw. Thomas Binder netted the Bulldogs' lone goal by heading in a pass from teammate Nathaniel Brown. But with 30 seconds to play in regulation LIU Brooklyn was awarded a penalty kick, which resulted in the equalizer.
