Women's Basketball Wraps Up Non-Conference Play with Columbia Wednesday

HACKENSACK, N.J. - The non-conference portion of the 2015-16 schedule concludes for the Fairleigh Dickinson women's basketball team when Columbia comes to the Stratis Arena inside the Rothman Center on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. tip. 

OPENING TIP
FDU wraps up the non-conference portion of the 2015-16 schedule with Columbia. The Knights are 3-9 so far in non-con play. 

SERIES SCORE
Columbia and FDU will play for the 15th time on Wednesday. The two teams have split the prior 14 meetings evenly. Columbia won last year in New York, 72-55. The last three meetings have been won by the home side--FDU won back in 2013-14 at home, 69-59.

LAST TIME OUT
Bryant used a 16-0 run in the third quarter and held FDU to a season-low of 41 points to win 70-41. FDU had 6 assists and 21 turnovers while Bryant had 17 assists compared to 12 turnovers. 

SCOUTING THE LIONS
Columbia comes in with a 9-4 record on the season and has won three straight games. Offensively, the Lions are paced by Camille Zimmerman at 16.2 points per game. Zimmerman also leads the team in rebounding at with 8.3 per game. Paulina Korner (35) and Emily Surloff (32) are the two lead distributers for Columbia this season. This season the Lions are plus 9.2 in scoring margin and plus-5.9 on the glass. 

1,200 POINTS & COUNTING
Erika Livermore (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) (1,569) and Kelsey Cruz (Chester, Va./Lloyd C. Bird) (1,319) passed the 1,000-point milestone last season. Livermore is the sixth player to reach 1500. 

NEW POINT
The graduation of Amanda Andrades (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) and her 175 assists (5.8 apg) and 36.8 minutes leaves a big hole for the Knights. Kiana Brown (Richmond, Va./Hermitage), Madelynn Comly (Littlestown, Pa./Delone Catholic) and Natalie Zamora (Albuquerque, N.M./St. Pius X) and will compete for those minutes and assists. 

TURNOVERS! JUST NOT APPLE
Bryant forced 21 FDU turnovers, sixth time this season the Knights have commited at least 20 turnovers. FDU had 24 turnovers versus Brown and 27 versus Siena. FDU has commited 271 turnovers compared to 143 assists this season.
