Women's Volleyball Travels to Providence this Weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Fairleigh Dickinson women's volleyball team will travel to Rhode Island this weekend to play in the 11th annual Friar Classic hosted by Providence College.  The Knights will play three matches over the course of the two-day event.

FDU will open play with Lafayette College on Friday, September 11 at 5 p.m.  On Saturday, the Knights will play the host Friars at 11 a.m. and Saint Peter's at 3 p.m.

The Knights are coming off a 3-0 victory over Quinnipiac on Wednesday night at Stratis Arena.  FDU controlled the match from start to finish, winning 25-21, 25-9 and 25-23.

Over the first eight matches of the season the Knights have been led offensively by sophomore Carly O'Sullivan (Bogota, N.J./Bogota) and freshman Rebecca Sabol (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Coffman).  Both players have 55 kills on the season and are averaging 1.90 kills per set.  Sullivan also leads the Knights in digs with 68.
