FAIRFAX, Va.
– The Fairleigh Dickinson men's soccer team will head south this weekend to play in the 2015 Capitol Cup.  The Knights (1-2) will visit the Washington D.C. area to play George Mason and American University.

FDU will play at GMU on Friday, Sept. 11 (7 p.m.) and then travel to American for an afternoon match on Sunday, Sept. 13 (1 p.m.).

George Mason sits at 1-3 on the season, but has played a challenging schedule.  In their last match, the Patriots fell to #2 Virginia by a score of 2-1.

American is off to a perfect 4-0 start that has earned the program a place in the NSCAA national rankings.  In the most recent poll, September 8, the Eagles were ranked 21st nationally.

Hofstra will also participate in the Capital Cup.  The Pride will play at American on Friday and George Mason on Sunday.

In their last match, the Knights earned their first win of the season with a victory over Yale.  FDU scored three times in the match and held the Bulldogs to single goal.  Senior Christian Dietrich (Berlin, Germany/Flatow-Oberschule), senior Sam Durkot (Centereach, N.Y./Newfield) and sophomore Brett Conrads (Andover, N.J./Newtown) each scored in the contest.

After this weekend the Knights will visit Army on Saturday, Sept. 19 and then host Siena at University Stadium on Tuesday, September 22.
