Last Time OutFDU hosted Manhattan on Tuesday at FDU Softball Field. The Knights took game one, 4-0, behind
Loren Stavrou (Long Beach, Calif./Wilson Classical High School)'s stellar complete game shutout. The junior allowed just four baserunners (three hits and one walk) while punching out six.
Courtney Slye (Mission Viejo, Calif./Capistrano Valley High School)'s sacrifice fly proved to be the difference but
Madison Lerma (Escondido, Calif./Escondido) also launched a two-run home run, her fifth of the season, and Slye capped the contest off with her three round-tripper in as many contests. In game two, the Knights jumped out to a 3-0 lead early after
Bryana Dorado (Oxnard, Calif./Oxnard) and Slye each tallied a RBI double in the first inning followed by reigning NEC Player of the Week
Madelaine Wilen (Bakerfield, Calif./Ridgeview High School)'s solo home run in the second. FDU would get that lead up to 4-1 in the third before the Jaspers got to
Cheryl Lopez (Staten Island, N.Y./Tottenville) for two runs in the fourth and four runs in the fifth. Wilen added a RBI double of her own in the fifth but the Knights fell, 9-5.
