TEANECK, N.J. - In a morning matchup at University Stadium, No. 1 seed Fairleigh Dickinson scored a Northeast Conference Tournament record seven goals to defeat No. 4 seed, Saint Francis U, 7-4. The Knights move into Sunday's Championship game against No. 2 seed Robert Morris. The 11 combined goals are the most for an NEC Women's Soccer Tournament game.

It is Fairleigh Dickinson's (15-5) second ever win in NEC Tournament play.

A goal eight minutes into the game from NEC Golden Boot Winner, senior Rachel Hoekstra (Bowmanville, Ontario/Clarington Central), put Fairleigh Dickinson on the board first. Hoesktra controlled a loose ball in the box off a corner kick from Jessi Reinhardt (Friedberg, Germany/Burggymansium) for her 14th of the season. Hoekstra doubled her total and the Knight lead less than two minutes later when she tapped one home after a shot from Nikki Keicher (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) hit off the hands of Saint Francis U (4-13-2) goalkeeper Romina Kunze.

Shannon McGinnis cut the Knights' lead in half with her fourth of the season. The defender knocked home a corner kick from Gabi Morales in the 15th minute that trickled past Felicia Burr (Bellingham, Mass./Blackstone-Millville) in the Knight goal.

Esther Rochon (Saint Romuald, Quebec/College Francois-Xavier-Garneau) made it 3-1 in the 39th minute when she got on the end of a cross from Reinhardt and then shot back to the left. The goal was the fourth of the season for Rochon.

Reinhardt--the NEC Rookie of the Year--added to her team's lead in the 43rd minute when took a pass from classmate Elma Kolenovic (Manhattan, N.Y./NYC Lab) on the left and lofted a shot in from 25 yards out to be Kunze to the top right corner.

Kolenovic got in on the scoring action just 1:38 into the second half. The shot came from the right side of the 18 and floated over Kunze and into the far left corner. That made the lead 5-1 in favor of the Knights.

Patricia Seitz (Pfungstadt, Germany/Baden-Wurttemberg), who came on as a substitute, scored twice in less than two minutes. The first came in the 60th minute when the senior headed home a cross from Keicher. Her second of the game came when Carly Tice (Highland Falls, N.Y./James I. O'Neill) found Seitz on a cross from a counter attack to make it 7-1 Fairleigh Dickinson in the 61st minute.

The Red Flash came back and scored three times to make it 7-4. The first of the goals came in the 65th minute when Hallie Rexer converted a penalty kick after the Knights were called for a handball in the box. Rexer scored again in the 72nd minute off a feed from Brittany Hasson.

The final goal of the afternoon came via Paige Butler in the 79th minute off a free kick from 30 yards out after a Knight yellow card.

Burr made just one save on nine Red Flash shots to pick up her 14th win of the season. Kunze made 10 saves on 31 Fairleigh Dickinson shots.

Fairleigh Dickinson goes back to the NEC Championship for the second straight year and will try to win the program's first NEC Tournament Title. The championship game against Robert Morris will be on Sunday at 12 p.m. at University Stadium.
