Box Score HACKENSACK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson women's volleyball team brought this game to a deciding fifth set after Sacred Heart went up two sets to none on October 25 at Stratis Arena. The fifth set came down to three match points in the Knights' favor. With the score at 14-11, the Pioneers won the next five straight points to down the Knights, 16-14. Junior Sarah Krufka of Sacred Heart credited 33 kills on the afternoon to help her team improve to 7-1. FDU falls to just 2-6 in conference play.
The first set started on even footing for both teams. The Pioneers owned a four point advantage three times capping what was the largest lead of the close set. This included one late at the 23-19 mark triggering a Knights' timeout. Out of the break, the Pioneers were able to hold on to that momentum and earn the next two points of the set, 25-19. Freshman
Rebecca Sabol (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Coffman) credited five kills this set on .556 hitting. She would finish with a team-high of 17.
The second set also started out being competitive between both clubs. The Knights showed early signs of control forcing the Pioneers to take their first timeout of the match, 8-6. Midway through, Sacred Heart came back to see themselves up four 19-15. They continued to take advantage of FDU's miscues to ultimately win the set, 25-18.
The Knights got out early clutching a five point lead in the third set until about the midway point 14-9. From there, The Pioneers corralled a 6-2 run to knot the score at 16 apiece. Junior
Caroline Laton (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) helped the Knights to their first set victory of the afternoon landing four of her 13 kills in the third. Pioneers fell, 25-21.
FDU dominated Sacred Heart in the fourth set sailing to a 25-17 victory. Nine points on freshman
Mary Bell (Lafayette, Co. /Monarch)'s serve brought the score to 15-9. The Knights owned their largest advantage on top by nine at the 19-10 mark and again at 23-14.

Allison Butler (Plano, Texas/Plano) led all with 43 assists. Sophomore
Carly O'Sullivan (Bogota, N.J./Bogota) finished with 11 kills while senior
Corey Lostetter (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) (10), freshman
Savanna Wray (Peoria, Ariz./Sunrise Mountain) (9), Butler (9) and Bell (8) also added to the game,
