The Fairleigh Dickinson women's volleyball team is heading to New York this weekend to take part in the 2014 Rose Hill Classic, hosted by Fordham, in the Bronx N.Y. The Knights will take on the host Rams, Northeastern and Rider in three matches over
Friday, Sept. 5 and Saturday, Sept. 6.
Last Time OutFDU will be coming into the weekend with a 0-4 record after opening the season at the UMES Hawks Holiday Hulabaloo last weekend. The Knights had a couple of stand-out performances from freshman
Carly O'Sullivan (Bogota, N.J./Bogota) and junior
Allison Butler (Plano, Texas/Plano). O'Sullivan shined in her first outing with 28 kills and 24 digs throughout the weekend. Butler also made a statement making the all-tournament team with a total of 87 assists.

10:30 a.m. Scouting the Rams Fordham opened the 2014 season 0-3 at the San Francisco Invitational, where they played Georgia, San Francisco and SMU. Lisa Hipp is back after leading Fordham in kills (332) last season. Brianna O'Neil, who finished with 254 kills a season ago, will join Hipp on the offensive attack. The Rams also have six new freshmen this year including the team leader in digs (19) Grace Muller.
Scouting the HuskiesNortheastern comes into the tournament with a 1-2 record after the Radisson UCF Invitational. The Huskies fell to Eastern Kentucky in five sets, came back to win in five sets against Florida International, and fell to UFC in three sets. Sophomore Caterina Rosander, has proved to be a star player for Northeastern, with a team leading 28 kills and 14 blocks after her first tournament of the year. The Huskies digs leader from 2013, senior Natalia Skiba, is the leader for single digs for the program with 684.
Scouting the BroncsThe Broncs are coming into the weekend with an 0-3 record after competing at the 36th Community Bankers Volleyball Classic. Rider fell in three sets to Southern California, Pacific and Arkansas-Little Rock. Freshman Jennifer Borio is coming off of a hot weekend after compiling 13 kills and five blocks, which was good enough to earn her a place on the all-tournament team. Joining Borio is sophomore Kaitlyn Griffin, who was the Bronco's leader in kills (249) in the 2013 season, and fellow classmate Alaina Piszczek, who was the leader in blocks (411).
