Drexel2014 Season:Â 2-4-2
When:Â Saturday, Sept. 27 - 7 p.m.
Where:Â Teaneck, N.J. (University Stadium)
Series History:Â FDU leads 4-1-0 (since 1981)
Last Meeting: Aug. 30, 2013 - FDU 1 Drexel 0 (Philadelphia, Pa.)
What You Need To Know:Â The Knights and Dragons played a scoreless contest over the first 83 minutes in last year's season opener for both schools, but
Godfred Baafi (Hackensack, N.J./Hackensack )'s goal in the 84th minute propelled FDU to the 1-0 road victory. Drexel, who would end up making the NCAA Tournament in 2013 after winning the Colonial Athletic Conference, has not won since defeating both Temple (1-0 OT) and Villanova (1-0) to start the season. Losses at Penn (2-0) and at home to nationally-ranked Loyola (Md.) (1-0) were followed by a scoreless draw at Saint Joseph's and a 1-1 draw at #4 New Mexico. But the Dragons come into Saturday night's tilt on a two-match losing streak after falling to CSU Bakersfield in overtime, 2-1, in New Mexico and to Princeton (who FDU's lone victory of the season is against) at home on Wednesday, 1-0. Four different players have found the back of the next this season for Drexel, and Tyler Afflerback has played every second in goal, where he has produced a 0.82 goals against average, 32 saves and three clean sheets. The Dragons, who are the third CAA school the Knights are playing this season and have gone 0-2-0, with losses at William & Mary (2-1) and at home to Hofstra (2-1). Drexel is projected to finish second in the CAA this season.
Up NextThe Knights hit the road on Tuesday, Sept. 30 to take on Yale for a 7 p.m. contest in New Haven, Conn. Â
