HACKENSACK, N.J. --Â The Fairleigh Dickinson men's basketball team (10-20, 6-10 NEC) will participate in the Northeast Conference Tournament for the first time since 2010 when it travels to Moon Township, Pa. to face regular season champion and top-seed Robert Morris (19-12, 14-2 NEC) on Wednesday night at the Sewell Center, with tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m. The quarterfinal contest will be broadcast live on NEC Front Row.
Both sides will be facing each other for the second time in a week after playing their only meeting of the season on Feb. 27 inside Stratis Arena. FDU did not score a point over the final five minutes.
"Knights Notes"
• The Knights improved from two to six wins in NEC play this season under first-year head coach
Greg Herenda.
• The Knights have now qualified for 27 of the 33 NEC Tournaments. FDU has made 17 semifinal appearances and nine championship game appearances.
• FDU has not won a tournament game since 2006 when it lost in the NEC title game to Monmouth. The Knights have dropped their last three in tournament play, including a pair of quarterfinal exits in 2007 and 2010, by a combined total of four points.
• The #8 seed for FDU is its lowest seed ever in the NEC Tournament. The Knights have been a #7 seed four times, going 1-3, including a 63-61 victory over Monmouth in the quarterfinals at Wagner in 2003.
• FDU is 27-22 all-time in the NEC Tournament and has reached the finals nine times (4-5).
• FDU won NEC Tournaments in 1985, 1988, 1998 and 2005.
• The Knights are 3-4 all-time vs. Robert Morris in the NEC Tournament, which includes a perfect 2-0 record against the Colonials in the quarterfinals. FDU is 0-2 in tournament games at RMU, losing the 1989 title game by one point and in the semis one year later (both times RMU was the top seed).
• FDU and Robert Morris last faced each other in the NEC Tournament back in 2006 when the top-seeded Knights handled the Colonials, 71-55, in the semifinals inside Stratis Arena.

• Senior guardÂ
Sidney Sanders Jr. (Charleston, S.C./Burke) scored his 700th career point at FDU on Saturday and currently sits at exactly 700. His 577 points this season are the fifth most on the Knights' single-season chart and he needs 23 more to become the fourth player to score 600 or more.
• Sanders  Jr. has lifted his scoring average from 4.6 ppg as a junior to 19.2 ppg this season, the second-best mark in the NCAA.
