Connor Hamilton (Burnham, England/Burnham)'s even-par 72 is the second-best score out of the 63 individual golfers who competed during Monday's first round of the Lonnie Barton Invitational, hosted by LIU Brooklyn.
The Fairleigh Dickinson men's golf team sits in second place in the 10-team field after shooting a 15-over-par 303 on the Legends Course at LPGA International.
Hamilton trails Robert Morris' Santiago Mejia by one stroke, and the Colonials lead the Knights by five strokes.
Junior
David Gaylord (Tweed, Ontario, Canada/St. Theresa Catholic) sits in the top-10 on the individual leaderboard after finishing in a ninth-place tie with a 4-over-par 76. Fellow classmate
Tom Barnes (Oradell, N.J./River Dell) sits just outside the top-10 after shooting a 5-over-par 77.
Sophomore
Jordan Jones (Wiscasset, Maine/Wiscasset) rounded out the scoring for FDU with a 6-over-par 78 (t-13). Senior
Brandon French (Lima, Ohio/Lima Central Catholic) also competed, but his 82 did not count towards the team's overall score, as only the top four are counted.
The Knights will play the final round on Tuesday morning, with play beginning at 8 a.m.
