M. Basketball at Saint Peter's Tuesday Afternoon

HACKENSACK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson men's basketball team (4-5, 0-0 NEC) is on the road once again this Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 23, with a trip to Jersey City to battle Saint Peter's University (4-7, 0-2 MAAC). Tipoff from the Yanitelli Center is slated for 4 p.m.

Last Time Out
FDU got back to its winning ways with a tight 76-74 over Delaware on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Earl Potts, Jr. scored a team-high 12 points in just 11 second-half minutes, including a sequence of a made three, a taken charge, and a powerful dunk and-one opportunity late in the contest. Prior to this stretch, the Knights had been down eight points with over three minutes to play. Darian Anderson (Washington, D.C./St. John's College ) had a team-high 16 points and a career-high five steals, Matt MacDonald (Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius) added 13 points and seven rebounds, and sophomore guard Malachi Nix (Evanston, Ill./Niles North) chipped in 11 points. As a team, the Knights shot 47.8% from long range (11-of-23) but allowed the Blue Hens to shoot 47.4% from the floor.

What You Need To Know:  The Peacocks started the season with four straight losses before earning one of the program's biggest wins in recent years, an 18-point win at Rutgers. Saint Peter's is 3-3 since that night with tough losses against Norfolk State at the Barclays Center and at home against Canisius but with another impressive victory over Princeton, 60-46. The team has been off for nine days since a 67-52 loss at Seton Hall. Senior forward Marvin Dominique, who had 11 points and 11 rebound in last year's meeting between the two schools, paces the team with 15.3 ppg and 8.7 rpg while shooting 40% from three. Senior guard Desi Washington has returned from injury and has averaged 14 ppg in his three contests.
