Box Score Hackensack, NJ – The FDU women's basketball team fell to 1-2 on the season with a 61-60 overtime loss to Bucknell this afternoon in the Stratis Arena on the Metropolitan Campus of FDU. The victory pushes the Bisons'record to 2-1 on the year.
"Our team played with tremendous defensive toughness and pride to take the lead in the second half and force the overtime," said head coach Pete Cinella. "Our defense was much improved but we need to find a way to play better in the first half. "
Trailing 33-25 at the intermission, FDU used active full-court defensive pressure to turn the 8-point deficit into an 8-point lead (51-43) with 6:41 to play in regulation. Bucknell responded with an 8-0 run of its own, before the two team became dead-locked at 53-53 as time ran out.
In the extra session, the Knights jumped out to an early 57-53 lead but Bucknell slowly chipped away, holding FDU scoreless for nearly 2-minutes forcing the sixth tie (57-57) and eventually extending its own lead to 61-58 with 13 seconds to play.

Amanda Andrades (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne), who finished the night with 12 points and a game-high eight assists in 43 minutes of play, while
Erika Livermore (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) rounded out the Knights scoring in double figures with an 11 point, 9 rebound performance.
Bucknell had four players turning in double digit scoring efforts led by Tyler Craig who posted a game-high 14 points on the night. The Bison tandem of Claire DeBoer and Audrey Dotson each posted double-double performances with 12 points and 13 and 11 rebounds, respectively.
FDU will return to action on Tuesday, November 25 as the Knights renew a New Jersey rivalry with Monmouth. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 p.m.
