W. Basketball to Host Saint Francis U in Doubleheader on Saturday

HACKENSACK, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson women's basketball team (1-16, 0-6 NEC) is set to host Saint Francis University  (5-12, 3-3 NEC) in a Northeast Conference rematch from two weeks ago. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m. and the contest will be broadcast live on NEC Front Row.

Last Time Out
The Knights were defeated in a MLK matinee on Monday by LIU Brooklyn, 86-64, at Stratis Arena. The Blackbirds put the game away with a 23-2 run to close out the first half. Senior Desiree Crawford (Aurora, Ontario/Cardinal Carter Catholic) and sophomore Kelsey Cruz (Chester, Va./Lloyd C. Bird) both scored 13 points for FDU. Sophomore Anastasia Williams (Central Islip, N.Y./St. John the Baptist Diocesan) nearly collected a double-double with 10 points and a game-high nine rebounds.

What You Need To Know: The Knights scored a season-high 89 points in the first contest but yielded an NEC-record 111 points to the Red Flash, who feature an up tempo style of play. In the first meeting FDU shot a better percentage from the field than SFU, but the Red Flash made 15-of-38 three-pointers, while the Knights only connected on three. FDU won the rebounding battle by 10 but turned the ball over 27 times. The Red Flash's Alli Williams and Alexa Hayward currently rank 11th in the NCAA in scoring duos, as the two players are averaging a combined 37.9 points per game
