W. Basketball and LIU Brooklyn to Play MLK Matinee

HACKENSACK, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson women's basketball team (1-15, 0-5 NEC) will host LIU Brooklyn (3-13, 1-4 NEC) at Stratis Arena in Northeast Conference on Monday afternoon at 2 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Knights saw their second-half rally at Central Connecticut State fall short on Saturday, 72-67. Sophomore Kelsey Cruz (Chester, Va./Lloyd C. Bird) poured in a career-high 31 points, while Senior Desiree Crawford (Aurora, Ontario/Cardinal Carter Catholic) filled the box score with 12 points, seven rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block. Junior  Amanda Andrades (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) chipped in nine  points and seven assists for FDU.

What You Need To Know: Senior guard Cleandra Roberts leads the Blackbirds in both scoring (18.3 ppg) and rebounding (7.7 rpg). Sophomore Sophie Bhasin adds 10.8 points per game off the bench. LIU lost to Columbia in its season opener, 62-59, and FDU's only victory of the season came over the Lions. Both programs also lost to NJIT in the nonconference schedule, with the Blackbirds losing by two at home and the Knights losing by 13 in Newark, N.J. In NEC play both teams lost to St. Francis Brooklyn, but FDU lost to the Terriers by only two, compared to LIU's 21-point defeat at the Barclays Center. The Blackbirds' lone conference win came against CCSU at home, 60-51.

The Knights will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 25 when they host Saint Francis University in a NEC rematch at Stratis Arena, with tipoff slated for 2 p.m.
