M. Soccer Looks for First 5-0-0 Start Since 2005

TEANECK, N.J. -- The No. 22-ranked (NSCAA/Continental Tire Poll) Fairleigh Dickinson men's soccer team will be looking for its first 5-0-0 start since the 2005 season when it heads up the New York Thruway on Sunday to take on a winless Albany team for a 6 p.m. kickoff at Bob Ford Field.

Last Time Out
On a hot and muggy night at University Stadium, the Knights defeated NJIT, 1-0, and dominated play, outshooting the Highlanders, 20-3. Sophomore defender Tchamy Dantse Dantse (Darmstadt, Germany/Gymnasium-Gernsheim) scored his second goal in as many games. Senior goalkeeper Jacob Lissek (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Rock Canyon) recorded his fourth clean sheet of the season, as the FDU defense has yet to yield a goal.

What You Need To Know: On paper, this matchup looks like a total mismatch, but Head Coach Seth Roland's squad with have a tough time on the road against a Great Danes's squad opening up the brand-new Bob Ford Field on Sunday. Albany has scored only goal all year, while FDU has not allowed a goal. In a series that dates back to 1957, the Knights have outscored the Great Danes, 20-6.

FDU will head to the campus of Northwestern in Evanston, Ill. to participate in the Lakeside Classic. The Knights will take on Northern Illinois on Friday, Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. and the host Wildcats on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 3 p.m. in a potential matchup between top-25 programs.
