W. Volleyball Concludes Home Slate This Weekend

HACKENSACK, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson women's volleyball team will be closing out its home slate in 2013 with Northeast Conference matches against Bryant and Central Connecticut State this weekend.  The Knights will take on Bryant at 1 p.m. on Saturday, before facing CCSU on Sunday at 3 p.m. Sunday will be Senior Day for the Knights' two graduating players, Taylor Roland-Buohl (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) and Violeta Slabakova (Shelby Township, Mich./Utica). 

Last Time Out
On Sunday, Nov. 3, FDU earned its third victory of the season with a win over NJIT. It was the Knights' second win against the Highlanders this year. Freshman Alyssa McIvor (Mission Viejo, Calif./Mission Viejo) was named NEC Rookie of the Week after an 18-kill performance, in which she had a .445 hitting percentage.

What You Need To Know: Bulldogs head coach Theresa Garlacy has been at Bryant for nearly two decades, leading the team to over 400 wins. Sophomore Claire Van Dyk leads the Bulldogs with 304 kills, while Jana Kmec has a team-high 669 assists. 

Central Connecticut State

What You Need To Know: Head Coach Linda Sagnelli has led the Blue Devils to 10 straight NEC Tournaments and her teams have had double-digit wins in all 14 of her seasons at the helm.  Sophomore Makenna Lommori is among the NEC leaders in assists with 830, dishing out to a number of skilled attacking players. Five Blue Devils have over 100 kills this season.

The Knights finish the 2013 season next weekend on a road trip in Pennsylvania. On Saturday, Nov. 16, FDU takes on Saint Francis University before heading to Robert Morris the next day to conclude the season.
