W. Volleyball Ends Season on a High Note With 3-0 Victory at RMU

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson women's volleyball team ended its season on a winning note after sweeping Robert Morris on Sunday at Sewall Center. With the victory, the Knights collect their first three-set win of the season and finish with an overall record of 5-24 (3-11 NEC), while the Colonials will start next weekend's Northeast Conference Tournament with a record of 9-21 (8-6 NEC).

All three matches were closely contested, but FDU came away with victories of 25-22, 27-25, 25-23.

Freshmen Alyssa Mcivor and Caroline Laton (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) led the offense with 11 and 10 kills, with the latter tying a career high for Laton. Sophomore Allison Butler (Plano, Texas/Plano) also dished out 29 assists.

Defensively, junior Deborah Hong (Rutherford, N.J./Rutherford) recorded 14 digs, while sophomore Maddie Gibbons (Columbus, Ohio/Grandview Heights) tied a season high total in block-assists with six and established a new season best in solo blocks with four.

The contest marked the final time graduate student Violeta Slabakova (Shelby Township, Mich./Utica) and senior Taylor Roland-Buohl (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) will play for the Knights.
