W. Volleyball Defeated in Four Sets at SFU

LORETTO, Pa. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson women's volleyball team dropped a four-set match to Saint Francis University, 3-1, Saturday at DeGol Arena in Northeast Conference action. With the victory, the Red Flash improve to 5-21 (5-8 NEC) on the season, while the Knights fall to 4-24 (2-11) NEC overall. SFU won by scores of 25-20, 25-22, 20-25, 25-17.

FDU was more effective on the defensive end, as four players registered double-digits in digs. Graduate student Violeta Slabakova (Shelby Township, Mich./Utica), junior Deborah Hong (Rutherford, N.J./Rutherford) and freshman Alyssa Mcivor all recorded 16, with sophomore Corey Lostetter (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) chipping in 12. Slabakova also registered a team-high four block-assists.

Offensively, sophomore Allison Butler (Plano, Texas/Plano) dished out 24 assists, while Mcivor led the way with eight kills.

The Knights will conclude their season Sunday with a 1 p.m. match at Robert Morris.
