W. Volleyball Loses to LIU Brooklyn, 3-0

The Fairleigh Dickinson women's volleyball team was defeated by first-place LIU Brooklyn, 3-0, Saturday at Stratis Arena in Northeast Conference action. The Blackbirds won by scores of 25-12, 25-16, 25-10 to improve to 15-7 (8-0 NEC) on the season, while the Knights fall to 1-21 (0-8 NEC) overall.

Offensively, FDU was led by freshman Caroline Laton (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon)'s five kills and senior Taylor Roland-Buohl (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg)'s 15 assists. On the defensive side of the net, Laton led the way with five block-assists and one solo block. Junior Deborah Hong (Rutherford, N.J./Rutherford) recorded nine digs, while graduate student Violeta Slabakova (Shelby Township, Mich./Utica) and freshman Courtney Kovensky (Highland, Calif./Citrus Valley) added seven apiece.

The Knights will have a quick turnaround when they host St. Francis Brooklyn Sunday afternoon for a 1 p.m. NEC contest.
