W. Volleyball Swept at LIU Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson women's volleyball team was defeated by Northeast Conference power LIU Brooklyn, 3-0, Sunday afternoon at Steinberg Wellness Center. With the victory, the Blackbirds improve to 13-6 (5-0 NEC) on the season, while the Knights fall to 1-18 (0-6 NEC) overall. LIU beat FDU, 25-6, 25-23, 25-20.

Freshman Caroline Laton (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) led the Knights offense with seven kills, while senior Taylor Roland-Buohl (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) dished out 22 assists.

Defensively, sophomores Grace Hong (Rutherford, N.J./Rutherford) and Corey Lostetter (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) and junior Deborah Hong (Rutherford, N.J./Rutherford) recorded nine digs.

FDU will return to action Saturday, Oct. 19 when it hosts Sacred Heart in its annual Dig Pink contest. The NEC contest is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
