Softball Set to Conclude Season at Bryant

The Fairleigh Dickinson University softball team will conclude the 2012 season with a road double-header on Saturday, May 5 at Bryant University.  The Knights will take on the Bulldogs in Smithfield, RI in a 1:00 pm start.

The Knights are 30-18 on the season with a 7-11 NEC record. 

Caitlin Bradac (Garden Grove, CA/Garden Grove) leads the Knights with a .401 batting average and 39 RBI. Six other players are hitting over .310 to contribute to the team batting average of .305.

Megan Reiner (Los Angeles, Calif./John Marshall) leads the team defensively with a 2.16 ERA and 18 wins on the season.  She has struck out 147 batters in 154.1 innings pitched. 

The Knights have maintained a team ERA of 3.43, while holding opponents to a .260 average.  Offensively, the Knights have out-scored opponents, 217-158 in 46 games. 

The Bulldogs of Bryant are 18-23 overall with a 9-7 record in the NEC.  They most recently fell to Quinnipiac last weekend.

Led by a .371 average from Madeline Valsquez, the Bulldogs maintain a team batting average of .281.  They have been out-scored, 188-254 in 41 games this year.

The Knights will conclude the season with a program record in wins. The 2011 team previously set the record with 26 wins.
