The Fairleigh Dickinson University softball team will conclude non-conference play with two mid-week double headers this week. The Knights will face Manhattan on Wednesday, April 25 and Siena on Thursday, April 26. Both have a scheduled start time of 3:00 pm.
The Knights are 25-18 on the season with a 5-11 Northeast Conference record. Caitlin Bradac (Garden Grove, CA/Garden Grove) leads the team with a .402 batting average and 37 runs batted in. The senior has recorded 20 extra-base hits and maintains a slugging percentage of .682.
Megan Reiner (Los Angeles, Calif./John Marshall) has led the Knights' defense this season with a 14-7 record in the circle. The rookie holds an ERA of 2.18 and has recorded 132 strikeouts in 140.1 innings.
As a team, the Knights have hit .303 and held opponents to 3.58 earned runs per game. The Knights have out-scored their opponents, 204-152 in 43 games this season.
The Jaspers of Manhattan are 6-29 on the year with a 1-7 MAAC record. The Knights defeated Manhattan, 6-2, at the Rebel Spring Games in March.
Manhattan is led by Kate Bowen who has maintained a .320 batting average through 34 games. She leads the team with 12 RBI and three home runs.
The Jaspers have recorded a team batting average of .188 and have been out-scored, 157-301.
The Knights will face the Saints of Siena on Thursday. Siena is 18-21 on the year with a 6-2 MAAC record.
Shannon Jones leads the team with a .445 batting average in 39 games. Jones has recorded 39 RBI with 11 home runs. As a team, the Jaspers are hitting .290, while holding opponents to less than three earned runs per game.
Following the non-conference matchups, the Knights will host Wagner in their final home contest of the season on Saturday, April 28.
