The Fairleigh Dickinson University softball team will continue Northeast Conference action this weekend with games against Mount St. Mary's and Bryant. The Knights will host The Mount on Saturday, April 21 in a double header before traveling to Smithfield, RI to take on Bryant.
Both double headers are slated to begin at noon.
The Knights are 25-16 on the season with a 5-9 NEC record. They are just one win away from tying the all-time program record for wins in a season.
Caitlin Bradac (Garden Grove, CA/Garden Grove) leads the Knights with a .413 batting average and 37 RBI. Six other players are hitting over .315 to contribute to the team batting average of .307.
Megan Reiner (Los Angeles, Calif./John Marshall) leads the team defensively with a 2.28 ERA and 14 wins on the season. She has struck out 120 batters in 130.1 innings pitched.
The Knights have maintained a team ERA of 3.60, while holding opponents to a .264 average. Offensively, the Knights have out-scored opponents, 201-147 in 41 games.
The Mount is 11-28 on the season with a 4-8 conference mark. They are currently riding a three-game losing streak after falling to Robert Morris and splitting with Saint Francis PA. Liz Christiansen leads the team with a .288 average and 24 RBI. As the team Mount St. Mary's hits .221 and has been out-scored 108-179 in 39 games.
Nicole Pagano leads MSM defensively with a 1.78 ERA in 18 appearances. She holds an 8-8 record with 109 strikeouts in 117.2 innings.
The Bulldogs of Bryant are 13-21 overall with an even 5-5 record in the NEC. They most recently fell to Stony Brook in a mid-week matchup and will host Monmouth on Saturday.
Led by a .372 average from Madeline Valsquez, the Bulldogs maintain a team batting average of .278. They have been out-scored, 163-229 in 34 games this year.
Following the weekend, the Knights will host Manhattan and Siena for mid-week double headers before concluding the NEC slate with Wagner on Saturday, April 28.
