Softball Set to Host Monmouth, Quinnipiac

The Fairleigh Dickinson University softball team will host Northeast Conference opponents, Monmouth and Quinnipiac, Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15 in Hackensack, NJ.

The Knights are 23-12 on the season with a 5-5 NEC mark.  They most recently defeated Garden State opponent, Saint Peter's College, 10-0 and 7-3.

Senior Caitlin Bradac (Garden Grove, CA/Garden Grove) leads the team with a .434 batting average, while seven others are batting .300 or above.  Bradac leads the team with seven home runs and 34 RBI in 35 games.

Freshman Megan Reiner (Los Angeles, Calif./John Marshall) has led FDU defensively.  The rookie holds a 13-3 record on the mound with an ERA of 1.95.  She has allowed 23 earned runs in 106 innings, while striking out 93 batters.  Opponents bat just .200 against Reiner.

The Hawks of Monmouth are tied with FDU for fifth place in the NEC.  MU holds a 14-14 overall record with a 5-5 conference mark.  The hawks most recently split a double header with BIG EAST opponent, Villanova. 

The Bobcats of Quinnipiac hold second place in the conference with a 19-11 overall record and a 6-4 conference slate. QU recently defeated Connecticut, 5-4 and split a pair of games against Central Connecticut State. 

Both teams are riding a one-game win streak. 

The Knights will host Columbia in a mid-week tilt on Wednesday, April 18 before hosting Mount St. Mary's next weekend.
