Softball Heads to Florida for Rebel Spring Games

The Fairleigh Dickinson University softball team will compete at the 2012 Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, FL March 10-17.  The Knights will play in 12 games through the week, while looking to continue their early success this season.

Senior Caitlin Bradac (Garden Grove, CA/Garden Grove) is leading the Knights' offense with a .667 batting average.  Bradac has hit in 12 of 18 plate appearances with five extra-base hits.  The Knights have out-scored their opponents, 57-17 in six games so far this season and have maintained a team ERA of 3.34. 

On Saturday, March 10, FDU will face Bucknell and Detroit-Mercy in games that begin at 9:00 am and 1:00 pm.

The Knights will play Nebraska-Omaha at 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 11 before seeing Garden State opponent, Saint Peter's College at 5:00 pm. 

After a day off on Monday, FDU will face Fairfield at 9:00 am and Utah Valley at 11:00 am.  They will then play New Jersey based Rider and Cleveland State at 9:00 and 11:00 on Wednesday.

On Friday, March 16, the Knights will take on Youngstown State and Houston Baptist in games that begin at 9:00 and 11:00 am.  The team will conclude competition with Columbia and Howard.  First pitch against the Lions is slated for 9:00 am, with the second game scheduled for 1:00 pm. 

In last year's Rebel Spring Games, the Knights went 7-4, with wins over Saint Peter's, Butler, Army, Youngstown State, Houston Baptist, Hartford and Bucknell.

The Knights will face Army in a mid-week double-header following the Rebel Spring Games.
