W. Basketball Travels South to Face Mount St. Mary's

The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's basketball team will take on Mount St. Mary's on Saturday, Feb. 18 as part of their final road-trip of the regular season.  Tip-off at Knott Arena in Emmitsburg, MD is scheduled for 3:00 pm.

The Knights are 12-14 on the season with a 7-7 mark in Northeast Conference play after losing a battle to Monmouth, 60-64, to conclude NEC Rivalry Week.

Saturday will be the 44th meeting between the Mount and FDU since 1990. Mount St. Mary's holds the advantage, with 23 wins and 20 losses.

In games in Emmitsburg, the Knights are 7-15. FDU fell at MSM last year, 76-83. In this year's first meeting, FDU earned the 'W', 63-58 on January 7.

Senior Mariyah Laury (Orange, NJ/Orange) led all scorers at the Rothman Center with 21 points, while freshman Erika Livermore (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) added 15 and nine rebounds.  Laury and Livermore are currently leading the Knights with 17.3 and 11.2 points per game, respectively.  Laury was named NEC Choice Hotels Player of the Week after scoring a program record 42 points against Monmouth last weekend.

The Mountaineers of Mount St. Mary's are even with the Knights in the Northeast Conference standings with an 11-14 overall record and a 7-7 mark in conference play.  They are tied for seventh place in the NEC.

The Mount is 8-4 at Knott Arena and is riding a three-game win streak after defeating Robert Morris and sweeping Wagner during NEC Rivalry Week.

As a team, the average 57.1 points per game, while allowing opponents to score 61.0 points per game. The Mount shoots 36.3 percent from the floor, while dishing out 12.8 assists per game and turning the ball over 16.4 times. They grab 32.1 rebounds per game, 8.5 fewer than their opponents.

The Mount is averaging 24.6 points in the first half, with 32.4 points in the second half.

Sydney Henderson leads MSM's scoring charge with 11.4 points per game. Ashley Christie adds another 8.0 points per game. Selina Mann scored 5.9 points per contest, while leading the team on the boards with 4.9 and dishing out over four assists per game and 110 total on the season.

The Knights will travel to Staten Island on Monday for their final road contest of the regular season.  Tip-off at Wagner is slated for 7:00 pm.
